Cantilenas Like Falling Stars and Hidden Treasures

Cantilenas Like Falling Stars and Hidden Treasures

Die ZEIT recommends two GENUIN CDs as the best recordings of the year 2011!

The first is Oboe Concertos by J.S. Bach, G.PH. Telemann, C. Ph. E. Bach with the young oboist Ramón Ortega Quero recommended by Wolfram Goertz: "The young Spaniard plays cantilenas like falling stars that do not want to burn out. His facility is also amazing! Everything breathes."

And Die ZEIT reviewer Burkhard Schäfer writes the following about the latest CD in our series "Un!erhört" (Un!Heard-Of): "Yes, they still do exist - discoveries in chamber music beyond the standard reportoire, if not very often. The two interpreters Ilona Then-Bergh (violin) and Michael Schäfer (piano) have for years made it their task to salvage such treasures. They found some in 2011 in the Violin Sonatas by Grigory Krein (1879-1957) and Samuil Feinberg (1890-1962) . The works of these two Russian Jews receive an intensive and pleasing interpretation that makes listening to this CD an experience."
