This is how the orchestral soundtrack to “The Settlers 6” came about:

GENUIN has developed – almost unnoticed – into Germany’s leading recording team for computer-game orchestral productions. Alongside the orchestral recordings to Anno 1702, The Guild 2, Spellforce 2 and Paraworld, the 60-minute soundtrack to “The Settlers 6” was recorded in a production with symphony orchestra (in this case with the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt) lasting several days. These recordings were executed completely in stereo and 5.1-Surround-Sound, quality of this standard being a novelty for computer games.

Moreover, measurements have been made for the new revolutionary audio procedure “Wave- Field Synthesis” in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute (which has developed the “mp3” format, amongst other things). The game is currently being introduced at the Games Convention 2007 in Leipzig, Europe’s largest computer-games fair; the official date of issue is 28 September 2007.

In a video of its own, the game producer Ubisoft provides information about the soundtrack recordings of “The Settlers 6” with GENUIN and the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt, as well as the Wave-Field Synthesis at the Fraunhofer Institute in Ilmenau:
