Authentic: this is true of every note played by the young musicians from Basel-based chamber orchestra I TEMPI – whether their bows are gliding over historical gut strings or they’re treating us to their warm, radiant tone on modern instruments. On their first GENUIN CD, the young virtuosos under Gevorg Gharabekyan clearly delight in showing us how to transcend the boundaries between baroque and modern ensembles. Elgar’s und Dvořák’s string serenades are subtly woven and relished with gusto. Internationally award-winning guitarist Stephan Schmidt joins in for Antoine de Lhoyer’s Guitar Concerto with just as much zest. A top-class selection!
