In this GENUIN debut CD, we hear violist Guy Ben-Ziony holding a dialogue with himself, performing music that invites the audience to participate as active listeners. The evocative viola sound created by this young, Berlin-based Israeli artist draws us magically into the music, which includes repertoire that is hardly ever performed. The program ranges from Telemann, Stravinsky, and Hindemith to Menachem Wiesenberg. Wiesenberg’s Monodialogue, dedicated to Guy Ben-Ziony’s former teacher Tabea Zimmermann, rounds out the CD with ethereal sounds that hover between dream and reality – recommended listening!

"Die CD bietet nicht nur Bratschenliebhabern ein lohnenswertes Hörerlebnis. Sie verführt zum betrachtenden Lauschen und Eintauchen in die vollendete Klangkultur eines Instruments, welches statt zu vordergründiger Virtuosität für eine tiefgründige klangliche Auseinandersetzung geradezu prädestiniert ist."

HAARNETZ Daily Newspaper (IL)
“A unique musical and personal adventure, Monodialogue is a selection of pieces, in which the connections between them weave into a comprehensive musical experience. It is thus advisable to listen to the recording as a whole and in sequence. (...) Abundant in originality and artistic integrity, in addition to beautifully played pieces, the CD offers deep enjoyment in rich layers. (...) The recording quality is wonderful: intimate in tone and full in its presence. One notices the beautiful nuances and elegant tone, is able to connect to the musical flow and enjoy a CD which steps out of the ordinary and becomes something special.”
