Christoph Hagemann

Artist photo of Christoph Hagemann - Cembalo

Christoph Hagemann was elected cantor of the Stadtkirche Wittenberg in 2021, where Martin Luther used to preach. He is as much at home on historical and modern keyboard instruments as he is on the conductor’s stand. His repertoire extends from the 16th to the 21st century, and his interpretations are characterized by historically informed performance practice and liveliness.

After studying church music in Dresden, Berlin and Hanover, Christoph Hagemann was a church musician in central Berlin for over 15 years. He was awarded the Geschwister-Mendelssohn-Medaille for his work in 2020.
