Mario Häring was born in Hanover and grew up in Berlin. Hailing from a GermanJapanese family of musicians, he had his first experiences on the violin and piano at the age of three. Before graduating from high school, he received lessons from Fabio Bidini at the Julius Stern Institute of the UdK Berlin and from Karl-Heinz Kämmerling at the HMTM Hanover. Häring also completed a bachelor’s degree in piano with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Lars Vogt and earned his master’s degree with top marks in 2017.

At the renowned Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018, he won Second Prize as well as the Yaltah Menuhin Award for the best chamber music performance. After his orchestral debut at the Berliner Philharmonie with the Berliner Symphoniker in 2003, further concerts with orchestra followed, including at the Konstanzer Philharmonie, Tokyo Metropolitan Theater, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, and six more times at the Berliner Philharmonie.

His concert activities have also repeatedly taken him to renowned halls such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Wigmore Hall in London, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. He has been a guest at leading festivals such as the Schwetzingen Festival, International Steinway Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Kissinger Summer, and Spannungen Festival in Heimbach. In spring 2017 he was also the first Artistic Director in Residence at the newly founded :alpenarte Festival in Schwarzenberg.

On the ICMA-, PdSK-, and Opus Klassik-nominated solo album … les Préludes sont des Images, he presents atmospheric interpretations of Debussy’s works.
