Eriko Takezawa

Eriko Takezawa was born in Hiroshima and began taking piano lessons at the age of five. In 1984, she came to Germany and studied under Naoyuki Taneda and Wolfgang Manz at the Karlsruhe University of Music. She completed her postgraduate degree (Konzertexamen) with honors in 1995. asterclasses with Jürgen Uhde, Edith Picht Axenfeld, Detlef Klaus and Sergei Dorenskij rounded out her training.

Eriko Takezawa won awards at national and international competitions. Radio and television broadcasts and CD recordings have filled her busy concert schedule throughout Europe. She has been coaching for the wind department at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 1994 and is a sought after chamber music partner at international competitions in Bayreuth and Markneukirchen (with distinction as best accompanist) as well as at the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb (German Music Competition) and at the ARD International Music Competition.
