The violinist Korbinian Altenberger is a well-established and highly regarded soloist and chamber musician worldwide. After studying and performing in the United States for several years, he returned to his hometown of Munich in order to take up the position of principal second violin in the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Since 2019 Korbinian Altenberger has also been a professor for violin at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg.

At the age of twelve, Korbinian Altenberger made his debut at the Salzburger Festspiele. He has won numerous prizes at international competitions such as the ARD International Music Competition, the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition and the Concours musical international de Montréal, amongst others. As a soloist, he has performed with renowned orchestras in Europe, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and Central America.

Korbinian Altenberger has drawn his musical inspiration from working particularly with artists such as Shmuel Ashkenasi, Gerhard Schulz, Leon Fleisher, Mitsuko Uchida, Ignat Solzhenitsyn and members of the Guarneri Quartet, the Juilliard String Quartet and the Cleveland Quartet. Korbinian Altenberger studied under Charles-André Linale, Keiko Wataya and Donald Weilerstein at the Musikhochschule Köln as well as at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
