Andreas Weller

Stuttgart tenor Andreas Weller began his musical career as a Stuttgarter Hymnus chorister under the direction of Gerhard Wilhelm. He subsequently studied voice with Bruce Abel, James Wagner and Christoph Prégardien, as well as in the master class for song performance of Irwin Gage. He has successfully participated in various competitions and received a scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation. Andreas Weller is now an internationally sought after concert and Lieder singer. He has worked with among others Herreweghe, Rilling, Harding, Koopman, S. Kuijken, Creed, Junghänel, Suzuki, Christie, Bernius, Hengelbrock, Höll and Gage, and has appeared at prestigious international festivals, including the AGORA Festival Ircam in Paris, the Resound Festival of Contemporary Music in Edmonton (Canada), the International Bach Days in Schaffhausen, the Soundstreams Festival in Toronto, the Maggio Mozartiano Internationale in Naples, the Festival Pole d’Arte Vocale de Bourgogne in Vézelay, the Festival Wratislavia Cantans in Breslau, the Festival de Wallonie in Namur, the Académis Musicales Saintes and the Festival International in Echternach, the Festival van Vlaanderen, and the Festival Bach de Lausanne. More than 20 CDs and numerous television and radio recordings with various broadcasters document the versatility of his artistic work.
