Neubrandenburger Philharmonie
For over 50 years, the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie has made a lasting impression on the musical life of the city. Each year the orchestra performs in subscription concerts, concert nights, and many special performances and holiday concerts as well as performing at schools and chamber music series. The Neubrandenburg Philharmonic received the German Federal President’s Special Prize as part of Germany’s nationwide project “Kinder zum Olymp” for the best collaboration between orchestras and young musicians (following the project “Rhythm is it” of the Berlin Philharmonic and Sir Simon Rattle). Special mention should also be made of the orchestra’s annual concert performed in Brussels at the invitation of the state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania’s representation at the European Union. The orchestra has also appeared in many radio productions with Deutschland Radio Kultur and North German Radio.
