Harald Oeler (* 1977) received his fi rst lessons on the accordion as a six-year-old. After completing organ studies, he received instruction on the accordion from Hans Bogner in Gaggenau, Germany in preparation for conservatory study. After successfully competing in Jugend musiziert and Jugend komponiert competitions, he began studying with Prof. Hugo Noth. He continued his studies with Prof. Stefan Hussong at the Würzburg Musikhochschule in 2001, where, upon completing his performing arts degree (künstlerisches Diplom) with distinction in 2005, he was accepted into the master class. During his studies, Harald Oeler won prizes at national and international competitions, including 3rd Prize at the Third International Accordion Competition JAA Tokyo/ Japan and 2nd Prize at the 2005 German Music Conservatory Competition. Harald Oeler was awarded a scholarship by the German National Merit Foundation and has received support from “Live music now” (Yehudi Menuhin Program for Supporting Young Musicians). Harald Oeler pursues a very active career as a concert artist in Germany and internationally, performing as a soloist and in various ensembles.
