Emanuel Mütze

Emanuel Mütze was born in 1984 in Großröhrsdorf, Saxony. At the age of eleven he experienced the trumpet for the first time with his father Andreas Mütze. He was soon accepted into the regional brass ensemble and municipal youth symphony orchestra in Cottbus.

Solo performances in the Young Artists’ Concert with the Cottbus State Theater and successful participation in several national competitions were further stages on his journey.

After graduating from high school, he began his studies at the Hochschule für Musiker und Theater Leipzig in 2006, first with Peter-Michael Krämer and from 2009 with Lukas Beno (principal trumpet of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra). During his studies he worked as a substitute in the Dresden Philharmonic, the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Weimar Staatskapelle.

In 2013 he received a two-year masterclass scholarship at the Mendelssohn Orchestra Academy in the Leipzig Gewandhaus. Since 2017 he has been principal trumpet in the Sorbian National Ensemble in Bautzen.
