New Chamber Music Series in Leipzig

New Chamber Music Series in Leipzig

Four partners have joined forces to enrich Leipzig’s musical life with a new international chamber music series: the Dresdner Bank as host in the "Kuppelhalle" (Dome Hall) on Augustusplatz, Leipzig’s tradition-steeped piano firm Blüthner, the CD specialist shop “Opus 61” (also known beyond the Leipzig city limits) and the young Leipzig classical label GENUIN as initiator.

In "Freshly Pressed" – the name of the series – outstanding musicians from Germany and Europe will present their new CD recordings, freshly issued by GENUIN, four times a year. The audience can enjoy a colourful program with live music, moderation and CD recordings, followed by the opportunity to chat with musicians and hosts over a glass of champagne.

The first "Concert under the Dome" on 1 November will feature the Heine Quartet, four established musicians who have gained their chamber music experience from world-famous ensembles (Melos Quartet, Cherubini Quartet, etc.). They will present their first GENUIN CD, “Intimate letters,” with works of Brahms and Janácek. The concert will begin at 7:30 PM at the Dresdner Bank on Augustusplatz, Goethestrasse 1. Entrance is free of charge.
