With each new release and competition, the career of the young German Amaryllis Quartett has been climbing higher and higher... In 2011 they won the Premio Borciani, shortly afterwards the Melbourne Competition, and then garnered an ECHO Klassik award for their GENUIN CD, “White.” The ensemble’s most recent release on GENUIN, “Red,” features the ensemble in early works by Alban Berg and the late C minor String Quartet by Beethoven. The iconoclastic sounds of Berg are as electrifying as the never-ending phrases and tremendous motivic sections in Beethoven's suspenseful quartet. This is contemporary quartet playing at the highest level!

Concertonet
"où ils se montrent tout aussi à l’aise, plus fins qu’expressionnistes, entre sensibilité et objectivité."
Review on the French magazine Concertonet by Simon Corley

American Record Guide
"What a superb performance of the Berg!"
