As a soloist and chamber musician, the Japanese pianist Naoko Sonoda has worked together with orchestras including the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Berliner Philharmoniker and with soloists such as Andrei Ioniță, Danjulo Ishizaka, Jens-Peter Maintz and Kolja Blacher throughout Europe and Asia. She studied at the Berlin University of the Arts with Rainer Becker and received chamber music training with Tabea Zimmermann and Natalia Gutman.
Naoko Sonoda has received numerous prizes at international piano and chamber music competitions, including competitions in Trieste, Italy and in Łódź, Poland. As a renowned chamber musician, she made a name for herself upon receiving the accompanist prize at the 15 th International Tchaikovsky Competition.
