Duo d´Accord

Vitality, profound expression and incredible diversity – these qualities abound in pieces written for two pianists. For Lucia Huang from Taiwan and her German partner, Sebastian Euler, these scores have always represented the pinnacle of musical accomplishment. They met as students at the Munich Conservatory of Music and founded Duo d’Accord in late 1999. Within the next two years they were awarded second prize at the ARD Music Competition in Munich and first prize at the Murray Dranoff Competition in Miami, the most significant piano duo competition worldwide. After earning these accolades, Duo d’Accord began its international career, including appearances in Europe, Asia and the U.S., exquisite CD recordings and performances with leading orchestras and musicians such as Heinrich Schiff, Christoph Poppen and György Kurtág. Lucia Huang and Sebastian Euler play masterly works written for two pianos with the same boundless enthusiasm which they demonstrate in their performances of the rich and varied repertoire of music for four hands on one piano. As versatile and enterprising musicians they develop very creative concepts for their concerts, bringing unknown works to the foreground and also including New Music compositions in their recital programming, many of which have been written especially for them. The pianists teach at the Conservatory of Music in Innsbruck where they are both head of their respective piano departments. Lucia Huang and Sebastian Euler have one daughter and live in Munich, Germany.
