Boris Kusnezow, Piano

Pianist Boris Kusnezow celebrated his first major success when he won the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb (German Music Competition) in 2009. Soon afterward he gave his Carnegie Hall debut, which was praised by the New York Times as “a most impressive interpretation.” Born in Moscow, Kusnezow began his training at the renowned Gnessin Academy. He has lived in Germany since the age of eight and completed his studies with Bernd Goetzke in Hanover.

Important milestones in his pianistic development include first prizes at international competitions, the renowned Borletti Buitoni Trust Fellowship (U.K.), scholarships from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, and numerous CD recordings. Alongside his solo career, the pianist has developed a particular passion for chamber music and vocal accompaniment.

Kusnezow currently performs concerts throughout the world in a number of different chamber ensembles and with acclaimed soloists. In Germany, he has performed at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Konzerthaus Berlin, Prinzregententheater and Gasteig in Munich, and Berliner Philharmonie. Kusnezow teaches at the Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media and resides
in Hanover.
