Pianist Frank Peter studied at the “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Leipzig with Prof. Günter Kootz and at Moscow’s Tchaikovsky
State Conservatory with Margarita Alexejevna Fjodorova.
He has also been on the teaching faculty of Leipzig University for over ten years and has been a full-time faculty member of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig since 1999, where he was appointed Professor of Piano in 2004. Concert tours have taken Frank Peter to several European countries as well Japan and the United States. In 1996 he taught on the faculty of the West Georgia State University (U.S.) as well as teaching at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff (GB) in 2006.
He pursues a highly versatile concert career including solo piano recitals, piano concertos and chamber music with a wide range of ensembles. Frank Peter also performs as a song accompanist, performs on the organ and harpsichord and does piano improvisation. He has been featured on CD recordings, numerous broadcast productions and in premiere performances.
