Versatility and historically informed interpretation are the hallmarks of the Kammerakademie Potsdam. The ensemble’s repertoire ranges from baroque opera performed on period instruments to classical symphonies all the way to premiere performances of New Music. Its collaboration with renowned soloists, guest performances at major concert halls and concert tours abroad confirm the orchestra’s established reputation as an ensemble worthy of international attention. Michael Sanderling has been Artistic Director of the Kammerakademie Potsdam since 2006, assisted by Andrea Marcon who continues the many years of work of Sergio Azzolini in period performance practice. Each season the Kammerakademie Potsdam performs several concert series at the Nikolaisaal in Potsdam and at the Schlosstheater Sanssouci. The orchestra also performs in operatic productions with the Hans Otto Theater Potsdam (Potsdamer Winteroper) and at the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci in June of each year.
